Ricardo De Sousa Peixoto
I am a substantive consultant at the University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. I specialise in cataract surgery, glaucoma and ocular surface and I am the glaucoma lead for the service in the Royal Derby Hospital.
I trained in the East Midlands (Nottingham, Derby and Leicester) and I completed the prestigious glaucoma fellowship at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
I have published several articles in the best peer reviewed journals and currently I am leading cutting edge research on ocular surface disease. I am the representative of the East Midlands region at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and I also sit on the board of the Scientific Committee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and this allows me to be a valid element steering the way how we treat glaucoma in the UK.
